A term-time activity for anyone and everyone to enjoy. Suitable for total beginners or those with some experience of clay. For one-off experiences please take a look here.
Get creative and find time for yourself by joining one of our weekly pottery classes. It’s a chance to unwind in a fun and relaxed environment where you can learn new skills, practice or refresh old ones.
Everyone works at their own pace in the class so beginners are very welcome, as are experienced potters!
If you’re looking to pick up where you left off at school or start entirely afresh, come along and try it out. You’re welcome to bring along ideas - we tend to start those new to the class with traditional techniques such as throwing and coiling. Make tiles and bowls while you experiment with patterns, test glazes and get used to the huge variety of techniques to choose from when in working with clay.
The opportunity to throw on the wheel.
As much clay as you can get through in a class.
Glazing and decoration of your pots.
Learning a whole range of new skills.
Socialise with others in the class or enjoy a peaceful space to get creative.
All tuition, equipment, tea and coffee is included. There is a small charge towards the cost of materials and firing of your pottery.
Contact the studio to book onto the next available day or evening course.
If these days/times aren’t convenient, please let us know. We’ll keep your details and are happy to start a new class if there is enough interest.
If you're looking for a one-off session, rather than a weekly class we can accommodate that too. See the clay activities we offer.

Suitable for those with some experience with clay, you pay for a block of 20 hours in the studio to use as and when convenient to you. It works very well for those who like to take holidays in term time but don't want to miss out on their pottery classes. For example, you can come for a couple of days one week, have a couple of weeks off then choose mornings, afternoons or days that suit you for your next sessions in the studio.
For beginners or those who would like a refresher of techniques, we can demonstrate and teach you how to make pinch pots, coil, slab and tiles in addition to exploring texture and decorating techniques. Find out about using coloured slips, glazes and oxides.
We can give instruction to get you started with or help to getting back to throwing on one of our seven potter's wheels.
During the classes you can work on your own ideas or we can suggest projects, including seasonal ones, to give you creative inspiration throughout the year with lots of support and encouragement.
