Find an experience that suits you from the options below:

Schools and Youth Groups

We bring our clay and pottery painting ideas and workshops to your school, youth group or venue to inspire young people to develop their creative skills.

At schools, we have worked with small groups and up to 80 children across the whole of key stage 1 and 2 on a day, adapting a project or theme to make it suitable from Reception up to Year 6 students who are looking for a longer and more complex challenge.

After school clay sessions can be booked too – as a regular or one-off workshop. PTA committees and parent groups are often keen to contribute or organise a visit from Tarka Pottery for a creative workshop.

We visit Brownies, Scouts and youth clubs at their halls running interesting and creative clay activities, including making Mother’s Day presents, Christmas gifts and even Thinking Day mementos. We enjoy working outside too, collecting leaves, natural textures and grasses to impress into clay to makes plaques and bowls.

Get in touch to discuss your project ideas or ask us for suggestions to fit a curriculum topic, event, key stage development plan, or season of the year.

Nursery, Parent and Toddler Groups

We have been visiting several local nurseries for pre-Christmas, Mother’s and Father’s Day pottery painting sessions for many years with fabulous results. Hugely popular at nursery and pre-schools where parents order items to be painted by the children and we do the rest, including hand painting personal messages onto the children’s cute hand and footprint keepsakes.

At parent and toddler groups, parents and children can have fun painting Christmas decorations, baubles to hang on the family tree and create gorgeous keepsakes and presents for family and friends.

If you’re looking for a fundraiser for your group, ask about commission and discount offers on orders, a gift voucher for a raffle, or free painted products for group bookings.

We visit your setting with pre-ordered bisque and set up everything needed to help your babies and toddlers create delightful painted prints onto bisque items, with plenty of smiles and messy play.

We’d be pleased to bring our professional service to your group or venue at a time and date that suits you. All our paints and glazes are completely non-toxic and washable.

Get in touch to ask for a sample order form and let us know approximate numbers, dates and times.

Adults, Ladies Groups and WIs

You can book Tarka Pottery to visit your club or meeting for a practical demonstration of a pottery technique. For example, we can show you how to make a large planter with clay coils, how to make a mug and plate using hand-building techniques or demonstrate throwing techniques on a potter’s wheel.

Alongside a demonstration, Jax will throw in facts and anecdotes about her fascination with pottery from the age of 15, and how she became an entrepreneur building Tarka Pottery to the busy interactive studio it is now.

If you’d prefer a hands-on experience, your group can enjoy making a clay project or painting pottery at your venue. We’ll bring everything needed so that those who’d like to join in can take part in the creative experience, suitable for complete beginners to those with pottery skills. A light-hearted, fun and educational addition to a regular calendar of activities and speakers.

Let us know when and where you meet, and how many people usually attend your meetings.

Care Homes and Clients with Carers

We visit care homes, clubs and groups, bringing along pottery painting activities which enable participation by all who wish to join in. We can call or visit to discuss your particular requirements and find out what would suit your participants. We welcome regular or occasional bookings for groups to fit into your activity schedule.

Jax and the team have many years of practical experience of working with adults and children with learning, physical and mental disabilities. We have worked with many groups in recovery, groups with medical conditions (including Parkinsons), and learning disabled.

We have a patient and supportive approach to meeting everyone’s needs and can work with small groups at your venue or our studio. Takeout kits are available so that you can enable your clients to do the activity at a time and in an environment that suits you and them.

Ask us how we can bring this service to you by filling in our enquiry form below. Let us know your location, possible dates and participant numbers, and any need to know the information.
