Paw Print Pottery

At Tarka Pottery we love dogs and you can now make an impression of your dog’s paw pads pressed into the clay at our studio.

Clay paw prints are an amazing piece of your dog, as no two prints are exactly the same. What a fabulous keepsake when you first get your pet and a lovely memento of your best friend as they are getting older.

We’ll book you in at a quiet time to bring your dog to visit. An appointment in the studio would last around 15-25 minutes and we can do the prints inside, or outside if the weather is suitable.

You can choose to have one large or two small clay plaques. The larger one can fit two paws or a hand and a paw, the smaller one can fit one or two paws – depending on paw size!

We’ll have everything ready to show you how to get a great print in very soft clay. You might like to bring your pet’s favourite treats or toy to keep them distracted!

How to book a paw print experience

The experience costs £35, including one large or two small plaques and hand painting of two words per plaque (extra words are 50p). If you’d like an extra plaque or two of the same animal, these will cost just £20 each.

The clay plaques will be finished, tidied and bisque fired. We’ll then paint the prints in a colour of your choice with the name of your pet (and date if you’d like), before glazing and second firing.
